Operation Christmas Child Collection

Operation Christmas Child Is Here! Sunday, October 20 through Sunday, November 17

Since 1993 Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts have been distributed by Samaritan’s Purse to over 200 million children word wide, reaching the far corners of the globe, each shoebox is accompanied by the Good News of Jesus Christ.

All the ways YOU can support Operation Christmas Child this year:

1. FILL a shoe box! A complete list of do’s and don’ts for each box is included inside for you. There are some new rules, so please check it out! 
2. Continue to BRING in-kind items and let us do the work for you. If you’re a super shopper and see essential items like school supplies, hygiene items, fun toys, “wow” items, etc. just buy a few (or a bunch!) and put them in the marked collection basket Sunday, October 20 through Sunday, November 3.
3. JOIN our PACKING PARTY on Saturday,  November 9th. Watch for time and location details.
4. DONATE funds for us to fill a box for you – if putting together a full box is not your thing, let us do it for you! Your donation of $35.00 ($25 for the items/$10 shipping) will create a magical box for a child.
5. SUPPORT shipping and printing costs with a $10 donation. But it’s SO much more than shipping!   This $10 helps with the printing and inclusion of “The Greatest Gift” booklet and “The Greatest Journey” follow-up discipleship program that each child receives. A copy of “The Greatest Gift” in the child’s native language is included in each box at the final point of distribution.
6. BRING your completed box to church  anytime but no later than Sunday, November 17.
7. BUY raffle tickets for our fabulous  gift baskets. Yes, back by popular demand! All proceeds help with shipping cost.
8. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY for the children across the globe that will receive our boxes. That the love of Jesus Christ will reach them through each item in their box and that their lives will be transformed through His love.

All monetary donations can be noted for “OCC” and placed in the offering plate with your regular giving or delivered to the church office.

As you can see, there is much to be done in a short amount of time. Thank you SO MUCH for your commitment to this ministry, your love for spreading the gospel, your heart for children across the globe and for making Operation Christmas Child possible at PLC!
